Frank Trigg Insists that Bout with Josh Koscheck still not on Table

Though reports and rumors are going on simultaneously about the fight between Frank Trigg and Josh Koscheck but the fighter Trigg himself denies and says that there are no such plans on the table right now. There are multiple reports that are surfacing the September match bout between Trigg (19-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) and Koscheck (12-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) had been verbally agreed by both the fighters but the ‘Twinkle Toes’ claims that he had not been approached by sources about the fight yet.

Trigg told MMAjunkie that he was still in dark regarding the fight and that who would be his first opponent in the recently announced event of UFC in September. He has announced his return to UFC just recently. The rumors were spread through various Twitter accounts about the fight and he had gone to publicly deny these reports. He said to MMAjunkie, “Now hear this, now hear this… I know that I have no idea. That is all. Rumors are not true. I have no knowledge who or when.”

This potential bout between Trigg and Koscheck was reported for a September date and it would be presumably one of the fights of UFC 103 that would take place in September. This bout would mark Trigg’s four years in the Company and in that stretch the 37 year old had fought for nine different companies. White Trigg said that he had not been approached officially for the fight but he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a fight between them in the near future. Trigg said that he wan in his second stint for one of the world’s largest MMA promotions and he was not really in a position to pick his opponents and fight them.

Koscheck had last fought in February and had a shocking defeat at the hands of Paulo Thiago. The exact date and location of UFC 103 has not been yet announced but recently Dana White promised the people of Las Vegas that they would return soon indicates that it may be in Las Vegas.

On the other hand the upstart promotion Bellator Fighting Championships is getting reacy to crown its first ever tournament champions since the finals of all 4 tournaments have been set. It is reported that the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, middleweight and finals would be contested in the coming next three weeks.

Every winner wills his pocket filled with $100,000 for his efforts and the first Bellator champion will be crowned in the featherweight division on June 5 when Joe Soto meets Yahir Reyes. On 12 June the Bellator will return to Sun Arena in Uncasville to host the welterweight between Lyman Good and Omar De La Cruz.
