Hitting the stage for another show, Katy Perry rocked out at The Forum in Melbourne, Australia on Friday evening. She was wearing one of her penchant skimpy ensembles, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer dished out the hits as she continues her run of gigs in the Land Down Under.
Seemingly taking quite the liking to her latest stop, Miss Perry tweeted, “Okay I’ve been joggin around Melbourne listening to Madonna (naturally) and am falling in love with this city… so much art & culture.” She also showed her appreciation to her fans in South America, tweeting, “Hey Brazil! A big thanks you for MTV Nomination for artist of the year… I can’t wait to come see u. I will bring my ittybittypolkadotbikini!”

Katy Perry has announced her admiration for fellow pop-star Pink after being impressed with a live performance by the Funhouse singer earlier this week. Perry declared her newfound infatuation via Twitter, following Pink’s gig in Australia on Thursday. She wrote: “Out to see the PINK show in Melbourne! She rules AUS! Can’t wait, I KNOW she won’t sing that song, ‘There U Go’ but I chuckle and wish!”
She continued, “Okay, THAT was AMAZING! YOU MUST see the show when it comes to the STATES! PINK was at her prime… so happy I went, inspired. She’s really great…hows so many different dimensions and is still personable, relatable, f***ing RIPPED and wears HIGH A** HEELS. HOW? FAN!”
Besides creating fire on stage the singer is to other things too. she is slated for a guest judging spot on “American Idol” auditions. She’ll be sitting in the seat vacated by Paula Abdul after contract negotiations soured between the star and show producers. We told you how Victoria Beckham was taking first crack at the empty seat. Reports out from the first auditions in Denver this week are not too kind to the former Spice Girl.
RadarOnline has a source close to the production who reports Posh did not fit in well on Friday in the Mile High city. “It didn’t go too well. She tried to hard to be ‘nice,’ but came off as icy and wooden.” It sounds like these audition rounds are for more than just the singers, and Posh might have failed to impress.
Fox chairman Peter Rice talked about the upheaval at the Television Critics Association presentations this week, “We’ll have these guest judges do one week each during the audition [period]… there is no thought right now that any of these judges will be long term judge for us. All of the people we are talking to have successful careers. I don’t even think they’d be available to judge full-time. We have now until January to introduce a new energy to the panel.”
